Winter Morning

I woke this morning
To iced over windshields
Rooftops white frosted
And frozen plants

The house is shivering cold
When I crawl from underneath
A pile of blankets

The cats seek warmth
At our sides
On our laps

Open the curtains
And let daylight in
They scatter and lie
Belly-up, soaking in the sun

Suddenly
Chilly Winter almost
Feels like Spring
